The Rainbow Retirement Planning "Get Acquainted" Process
We believe that financial security and peace of mind comes only when you know that you can entrusting your life's savings & your retirement to someone whose primary focus is to help you protect, grow and enjoy your assets.
EXPLORATION: 1, 2, 3
Step 1: Getting To Know You
In our first meeting we'll get acquainted. Most of the meeting will be spent talking about your financial objectives: what it is that you're looking to do, and why. A small portion of the meeting will be spent on reviewing ways in which we might be able to meet.
Step 2: Managing Risk
If we both agree on a second meeting, that meeting will be rather brief. We'll use it to review your starting point – your portfolio, as it is today. And we’ll begin to focus on risk – both identifying your comfort level with risk as well as reviewing the amount of risk contained within your current portfolio. In between meetings 2 and 3, we’ll review your entire portfolio to see if it aligns with the level of risk that you feel comfortable with.
If there’s a misalignment, we’ll recommend steps to change the level of risk in your portfolio in Meeting 3.
Step 3: Portfolio Review – Report Out
In this meeting, we’ll summarize our findings from your portfolio review. If there are recommendations on appropriate steps to take to reduce risk, we’ll talk about them here. At this time, a decision is made as to whether we can help you achieve your goals…or not.
CLIENT ONBOARDING: Steps 4, 5, 6 & 7
Now that we have today’s Risk Management and Investment strategies aligned, we can move on and start planning for the future. During meetings 4 through 7, our focus will shift to building your financial strategy which will include beginning to build the foundation of a bridge to cross from today to “tomorrow”:
- Today’s Budget and Cash Flow
- Assumptions and Planning for Future Cash Flow Needs
- Social Security Planning
- Income Planning
- Prioritization of goals
- Advance Tax Planning
- Investment & Risk Management Strategies
We'll cover Social Security, Pensions, 401(k)s and Medicare, as well as other aspects of your life that can affect your retirement income and lifestyle. And we will also discuss how to protect your financial future from unexpected expenses and life events.
By the end of these meetings, you'll have a solid understanding of your current financial standing and what needs to be done to achieve your financial goals. With a plan and a tactical strategy ready to be implemented, you can find the peace of mind you need to get a good night's sleep. Sweet dreams!
Step 8: Your Team for Ongoing, Proactive Financial Management
Life changes - and your financial plans will need to change as well. We'll continue to meet on a semi-regular basis to help you re-evaluate your financial plan and make adjustments to ensure that you're still on target. In addition to these reviews, your private money managers will be working hard to continuously manage your accounts - on a regular basis – in a manner that can help you protect and preserve your life’s savings.
